Okay, maybe a bit TMI, but I've been curious about seeing what's actually going on inside my ear canal and having a safe way to clean earwax without just pushing it further in. This ear wax removal camera seemed like a high-tech way to do it.
This little device has a tiny camera on one end with LED lights, and it connects wirelessly via WiFi to your phone (both iOS and Android compatible) so you can see a live 1080P HD video feed of your ear canal on the screen. It comes with various ear spoon attachments you put on the end. The clear video feed is amazing – you can see everything in surprising detail!
Using it requires a bit of coordination and a gentle hand, but being able to see what you're doing makes cleaning much safer and more effective than just probing blindly. The included 8 ear spoons provide different tips and tools for various types of earwax. It's definitely a strange sensation at first, but seeing the before and after is quite satisfying (and again, a little gross!). If you're curious about your ear health or need a visual aid for safe and effective earwax removal, this ear camera is a surprisingly functional tool. Just remember to be gentle!
This is a great value for a tiny little camera, that works pretty well. You shouldn't expect a million dollar view, but it is clear enough to let you see what is hiding inside your ear canal. I have read about the pitfalls of using Q-Tips and how they can push wax further in. Just seeing inside my ear canal for the first time, with my own eyes, I can see why Q-Tips should only be used to clean the outer ear surfaces.
I had zero issues downloading the soulear app and it connected immediately with the device on the first try. It takes some practice moving this thing around, so don't just jam it in your ear, until you are pretty sure of operating it. I also wouldn't insert this too far into my ear canal, for fear of doing damage. But for cleaning those large chunks of ear wax, love it!
